THANK YOU, TAMPA!

THANK YOU, Tampa Bay Lightning

For an incredible year of hockey, but most importantly for being an integral part of the Tampa community and for creating timeless childhood memories. 💙
From the Stadium Series game in the cold to the Game 7 of yesterday.
To me, the father & son memories that I created with my 4 years old boy, Oasis, was EVERYTHING. The most important of all.
We were at the final Game 7 yesterday. Oasis had a huge smile on his face from all the action. The sights, sounds, ambience, food, music, pucks, passes, skating, crowd chanting. He was having so much fun chanting "Let's Go Lightning!" and swinging his white towel.
When the game ended, he looked up to me and asked:
Dad, which team won?" lol
I told him, Lightning lost.
He goes why! Vasilevskiy made so many saves!
He loves Vasy. Mainly because Vasy was SO INCREDIBLY NICE to him in person.
We headlined a public signing event earlier this year. Vasy was the main event. Thousands in the crowd and fans waited for him to arrive at the signing. When Vasy came, he walked right through the crowd. Shy. Reserved. Didn't say a word, just little smiles and nods.
Oasis was just waiting in line.
Vasilevskiy walked straight up to Oasis first. Before he talked to any other adults.
He says: "Hey, what's up little man! What's your name?"
Oasis was STUNNED.
He signs Oasis's goalie mask before anything else.
Oasis goes "Are you the real Vasilevskiy?" because Vasy didn't have his mask on.
Vasilevskiy bursts out laughing.
He goes: "Ya I think so. I'm the real Vasilevskiy"
Vasilevskiy is 6 ft 4 tall.
Oasis was like 2 feet. He was in awe. Like meeting a Transformer in person.
At yesterday's game. I asked Oasis in the car ride back home:
"Hey, what was your favorite memory from tonight's game?"
He says: "Sitting on your head. Watching Vasilevskiy make all the stretches and saves in the warm up. He saves everything. And he was right there!"
I answered back to him: "My favorite memory is hanging out with you at the game all night"
He answered: "Yes! And my other favorite memory is us picking out the mini jersey for baby Ocean. My litter sister is gonna come with us next game".
She's 8 weeks old right now.
But she officially has her own Tampa Bay Lightning jersey. Ready.
And you damn sure know that she'll be RIGHT THERE at the games next season, cheering this team on!

WE LOVE TAMPA! 💙

BE THE THUNDER. ⚡️

We'll see you next year to make new memories.
