Colorado Avalanche goalie Darcy Kuemper, is a 10-year professional from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He is 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, and will enter the last year of his contract in 2021-20, with a $5.5 million salary.

— Kuemper played major-junior for the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League and became a 2009 sixth-round draft pick (161st overall) of the Minnesota Wild.

— He bounced back and forth from the Wild and its AHL affiliate from 2010 to 2015, then became an NHL regular with Minnesota in 2015-16.

— He signed a one-year contract as a free agent with the Los Angeles Kings on July 1, 2017, but played just 19 games with the Kings.

— He was traded to Arizona on Feb. 21 , 2018, for forward Tobias Rieder and goalie Scott Wedgewood.

— Kuemper had three consecutive outstanding seasons with the Coyotes from 2018 to 2020.

— He backstopped Canada to the gold medal at the 2021 World Championship in June, finishing 5-2-1 with a 2.17 GAA and .916 SP.

Kuemper left in the second period of his team's 8-6 win over the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday with an upper-body injury.

Kuemper, 32, has a 6-2 record in the playoffs with a .897 save percentage and a 2.65 goals-against average. He went 37-12-4 during the regular season with a .921 save percentage and a 2.54 GAA.
