Feature of the Week: Jacob Markstrom🔥🔥🔥

Jacob Markstrom is a Swedish professional hockey goaltender currently playing for the Calgary Flames. Markstrom was selected in the second round (31st overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers.

Markstrom made his NHL debut with the Panthers during the 2010-2011 season and went on to play for the Vancouver Canucks for six seasons. In 2020, he signed with the Flames as a free agent and had a career-best season, finishing with a .918 save percentage and a 2.75 goals-against average.

Markstrom has put together a solid career in the NHL, with a career record of 126-107-25 and a .913 save percentage. Markstrom is known for his quick reflexes and athleticism, but he is also a smart and calm goaltender. He is very good at reading the play, anticipating where the puck is going to go, and at controlling rebounds, which helps limit the amount of second chances that opponents get. Markstrom's strong play earned him a Vezina Trophy nomination for the NHL's top goaltender in the 2020-2021 season. He also helped lead the Flames to the playoffs, where they advanced to the first round.

Off the ice, Markstrom is known for his charitable work and support for various organizations. He has been involved in various initiatives, including supporting the Vancouver Children's Hospital and participating in the Canucks' annual holiday hospital visits.

Markstrom's hard work, determination, and talent make him one of the NHL's top goaltenders. With his solid performance and kind heart, he is sure to continue to make a positive impact both on and off the ice.
