A few weeks ago, when Igor Shesterkin was rocking a .942 save percentage, a number that no one’s posted for a full season as a No. 1 goalie since Jacques Plante 50-plus years ago, the noise was a little louder.
Igor hit a very minor rut, but elevated his game once again as of late. Right now he is running away with the Vezina Trophy, outpacing the rest of the league’s goalies in every major category. With only a few games left in this season and NHL Award ballots already sitting in voters’ inboxes, it’s time to tackle the bigger question:
