2024: A Truly Memorable Goalie Mask Year - Thank You!

January 2024 started off with us moving down to Tampa, Florida from Montreal, Quebec. We moved in order to expand our business operations, establish a new home away from home and to be an integral part of the US goalie market. Florida really adopted our business as one of their own and in 2024, has become one of our strongest markets.

At the same time, Tampa is where I chose to raise my boy, Oasis. Now 3 years old, but was 2 when we first moved there. My biggest fear when leaving Montreal to raise a kid was "But what about the hockey culture that Oasis will be missing out on???"

Well Florida has proven me completely wrong, and has gone way above and beyond my expectations as an expat Canadian. The hockey culture in Florida is SO incredibly strong and present. The Tampa Bay Lightning supports tons of local skating rinks where kids can start playing as early as 3 years old. Oasis has then met and chilled with Andrei Vasilevskiy, Mike Richter and Tim Thomas in Tampa. Sergei Bobrovsky was our hottest selling goalie mask of the year.

Early on Feb 17, 2024. We took Oasis to his first ever live hockey game. He immediately fell in love with the Tampa Bay Lightning, chanting "let's go Lightning" all the way back to his bed. Since then, he has gone to 6x NHL games in 2024! Seeing the Stanley Cup live in Sunrise, FL. Seeing my childhood team, the Montreal Canadiens and watching the Rangers at the MSG in New York city. Getting some hockey culture into my boy is one of the most important task I wanted to accomplish as a dad, and now, it is successfully done!

(I need this kid to take over the family business one day, and training starts very early).

Speaking of New York city, which has also become a home away from home for us and another one of our strongest markets. New York allowed us to complete the biggest sale of my career this year. When we met with Mike Richter for an interview, in which he certified that the goalie mask that Ed Cubberly has was indeed one of his game worn masks. We then flew down to New York / New Jersey to meet with the legendary mask maker Ed Cubberly in person. Acquired the mask in hand and subsequently delivered it to a wealthy and extremely passionate Rangers fan and client all the way in Japan (he used to live in Manhattan and watched the Rangers win the cup in 94). Truly an incredible moment in my career of goalie mask sales. A personal favorite goalie mask of mine, the famous Mike Richter New York Rangers mask, crafted by Ed Cubberly. The biggest hockey stage in the USA. It was truly such a unique and epic summer of goalie masks.

I don't know what 2025 has in store for us, goalie mask wise, but I sure hope it will be as cool and epic as 2024 was!
