In the 1991 and 1992 seasons, Tom Barrasso stepped onto the ice with some huge white pads made by Vaughn. As a kid, watching those big marshmallow pads win two Stanley cups was one of the coolest things ever. My earliest childhood memories of the Pittsburgh Penguins was watching Jaromir Jagr, Mario Lemieux and Tom Barrasso dominating the league, as Tom Barrasso wore these white pillows on his legs. I imitated him by using my mother's two big white pillows as well haha. These white pads became iconic because aTom conquered two Stanley cups with this style.
